Economic Impact

Ohio’s wine industry continues to grow dramatically and represents a significant segment of the Buckeye state’s $105 billion food and agriculture industry. Ohio grape growers and wine makers all over the state are creating quality, award-winning products that rival those in well-known wine producing areas like California and Europe.

Ohio’s grape and wine industry has a significant impact of $1.3 billion on the state’s economy annually, is the 6th largest wine producer in the country, and produces and sells 1.2 million gallons or more than a half-million cases of wine.

Figures are from the 2016 economic impact study commissioned by the Ohio Grape Industries Committee and conducted by Frank, Rimerman + Co, LLP.
