Gervasi Vineyard will debut its first sweet red wine, “Brigante” on Tuesday, March 15 at their Third Annual Vintner Wine Pairing Dinner hosted at The Bistro.  The sweet red wine is now the 27th varietal produced by Gervasi Vineyard.

“Brigante” meaning “brigand” or bandit” in Italian, lives up to its name as “the bad boy”.  With a Zinfandel penchant, as described on the wine label, Brigante is the “Sweet Red Wine” that breaks the rules with its assertive structure, complex fruit flavors and “bad boy” personality. Enjoy Brigante alone when no one is watching or with friends and all the wrong foods. It’s unforgettable!

“Gervasi guests who are fans of sweet red wines have patiently waited for this day,” said Gervasi’s Winemaker, Andrew Codispoti.  “We began to research and develop the new sweet wine in 2014, as we evaluated over two dozen sweet red wines available in retail stores. Our goal was to produce a ‘new’ style of sweet red wine, one base on classical varietals, and that along with sweetness, had structure, intensity, versatility, great color and one that would complement a variety of foods. We feel accomplished our mission,” said Codispoti.
